The Universal Healer

In Ayurveda, most herbs are specific. Ginger is too hot for some; Mint is too cooling for others. But there is one “Golden Ratio” that balances everyone, regardless of their body type: this CCF tea recipe.

Standing for Cumin, Coriander, and Fennel, this simple brew is the first line of defense against poor digestion, bloating, and water retention. It is gentle enough for children yet powerful enough to flush out deep-seated toxins (Ama).

The Science of the Three Seeds

Why these three? It’s all about chemistry.

  • Cumin (Jeera): Ignites the digestive fire (Agni) and burns up toxins. It relieves gas and bloating.

  • Coriander (Dhaniya): The “Cooling Agent.” It prevents the Cumin from becoming too hot, making this safe for people with acidity or heartburn. It also cleanses the urinary tract.

  • Fennel (Saunf): The “Relaxer.” It soothes cramping, stops nausea, and refreshes the breath.

Together, they form a perfect triangle: Heat + Cool + Relax.

How to Make It (The Ritual)

Ingredients for this CCF tea recipe:

  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Whole)

  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Seeds (Whole)

  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds (Whole)

  • 4 Cups Water

Method:

  1. Boil: Add the seeds to the water and bring to a boil.

  2. Simmer: Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes (until the water turns golden).

  3. Strain: Pour into a thermos or mug. Discard the seeds.

  4. Sip: Drink it warm throughout the day.

When to Use It

  • The Bloat Buster: Drink 1 cup 30 minutes after a heavy meal.

  • The Gentle Detox: Sip it exclusively for one day if you feel heavy or lethargic.

  • The Skin Clearer: Drink it daily to reduce inflammation and heat rashes.

Safety Note: This tea is diuretic (makes you pee), which is how it flushes toxins. Don’t drink it right before bed!

The Upgrade (Dosha Tweaks)

While the standard ratio is perfect, you can tweak it for your specific needs:

  • Vata (Gas/Anxiety): Add a pinch of Ginger powder.

  • Pitta (Acidity/Heat): Double the Coriander.

  • Kapha (Weight/Congestion): Add a stick of Cinnamon.
